BRI Introduces 2026 London Debate Program

This November, high school students from the United States and United Kingdom will meet in London, England, for four days of structured debate and dialogue on timely issues.

Later this year, BRI will take part in Debating Matters: Transatlantic, a 4-day in-person program in London from Nov. 11-14, 2026. This 4-day debate and leadership event brings together high school students from the U.S. and the UK to build their civil discourse skills and debate issues facing both nations.

Debating Matters: Transatlantic is open to students who enjoy public speaking and debate, and who meet the following requirements:

- Public, private, charter, or homeschool students who will be in grades 10-12 by Nov. 1, 2026.
- Students must be eligible to travel to the United Kingdom in November of this year.

Students must participate in the 2026 U.S. Virtual Qualifier, and eligible students will then be able to apply for Transatlantic. This program is partially funded by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York, whose support helps BRI to expand our opportunities for young leaders.

Teachers and families of interested students can view eligibility requirements, the qualifier process, and learn how to apply on the Debating Matters: Transatlantic page on BRI’s website.
