Don’t Forget About BRI’s Latest Resource!
Summer might be upon us, but we know an educator’s work never stops. If you’re already crafting your 2025-26 school year lesson plan, don’t forget about the newest curriculum from the Bill of Rights Institute, Government and Politics – Civics for the American Experiment.
This curriculum can be a printable textbook or a fully digital resource. It joins other BRI resources, such as our comprehensive U.S. history digital textbook, Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, and curricula like Documents of Freedom, Slavery and the Founding, American Portraits, and Heroes and Villains.
Government and Politics includes everything you need to teach high school government. It has seven units that cover topics including the foundation of the U.S. government, Federalism, elections, and civil rights and civil liberties. With classroom ready lesson plans, primary source activities, and point-counterpoint essays, this resource helps students answer several questions, including how and why the U.S. government was formed, the role of courts in the American constitutional order, and how individuals, groups, and the government interact to protect and promote civil rights and civil liberties in the United States.
Several tabletop games are also included in Government and Politics to introduce and reinforce the resource’s concepts, including Fed Up, Give Get, and Party Favors. The curriculum also offers 10 digitally interactive activities that allow students to explore its concepts more thoroughly.
