The Bill of Rights Institute Announces a New Website for Students
Arlington, VA — The Bill of Rights Institute has recently launched a new interactive student website specifically designed to directly engage high school students with the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
Located at DoYouHavetheRight.org, the student website is designed to meet the specific needs and interests of students and provides visitors with a visually appealing design that will engage them with American history and civics.
“We have created a fun and learning-rich website that students will want to explore, and will take away new knowledge every time they visit,” said Victoria Hughes, President of the Bill of Rights Institute. “Reaching out to students using innovative technologies helps accomplish our primary mission of educating the next generation about our country’s Founding principles and how they affect our daily lives and shape our society.”
Students explore interactive, multimedia- and content-rich pages to learn about the principles that unite us as Americans and the responsibilities of citizenship. Monthly features will help students connect the Bill of Rights to their daily lives.
DoYouHavetheRight.org is designed to be accessible and visually engaging. Highlights include:
- Flash-driven quizzes and games, audio, and video, drawing students into the content with rich multimedia.
- A newly created Constitution Study Guide, which includes summaries of vital information about U.S. History and civics.
- A monthly constitutional theme – based on the various rights found in the Bill of Rights - making the website an ever-changing resource.
- Material reviewed or created by teachers to ensure quality and accuracy.
The Bill of Rights Institute is an educational non-profit organization that was founded in 1999. Its mission is to educate young people about our country’s Founding principles through classroom materials and programs that teach the words and ideas of the Founders; the liberties and freedoms guaranteed in our Founding documents; and how America’s Founding principles continue to affect and shape a free society.
