March 2001: The Institute conducts its first Constitutional Seminar for Teachers in Mount Vernon, Ohio, providing teachers with background knowledge, instructional tools, and teaching strategies to better engage students with our Founding principles. The concept for the Constitutional Seminar was a natural outgrowth of the Institute’s mission to assist educators in teaching America’s constitutional history and civic values. With financial assistance from Karen Wright of Aerial Corporation, the Constitutional Seminars have become a signature program of the Bill of Rights Institute, helping over 16,000 educators more effectively present America’s Founding principles to students. “The presentations are just the right mix of fundamental knowledge in the area and lessons/activities to use in the classroom. In addition, being able to discuss strategies with other veteran educators is priceless. I'm never so invigorated to teach about this piece of my curriculum as I am when I return from one of your excellent seminars.” For more information about our current Constitutional Seminar schedule, visit our calendar!
